Frequently asked questions about your tickets to the Parthenon of Athens

How and when will I receive my tickets? +
1. Booking confirmed
After completing your purchase, you will receive a booking confirmation email. 
2. Ticket delivery
Our delivery commitment is:
●  Up to 24 hours before the visit for advance bookings. 
●  Up to 1 hour before the visit for bookings made less than 24 hours in advance.
Once the tickets are available, you will receive your ticket by email and, additionally, we may send it via WhatsApp and/or SMS for your convenience. In addition, 24 hours before your visit, you will receive an automatic reminder through the same channels.
3. Exception: tours with in-person ticket delivery
On guided tours, tickets are not sent in advance, as they are delivered directly to our customer by the guide.
● Ticket delivery takes place at the meeting point, on the day and at the time of the visit.
● The customer must go to the meeting point indicated in their confirmation email.
The type of tour purchased (digital delivery or in-person delivery) is clearly indicated in the booking confirmation email, sent immediately after purchase.
Is the ticket to enter the Parthenon of Athens included in my purchase? +
Yes, your tickets to the Acropolis of Athens and the Parthenon are included in our tours.
What should I do if I have booked a GUIDED TOUR? +
When you purchase your tickets with a guided tour, you will receive the information with the meeting time and place in your email. We recommend arriving 15 minutes early to avoid any unforeseen issues and to begin your visit properly prepared.
What should I do if I booked my tickets with an AUDIO GUIDE? +
When purchasing your tickets with an audio guide for the Parthenon of Athens, you will receive two emails. One contains the purchase confirmation; the other contains the access details to your private area, where your tickets and audio guide will be available.
What documentation do I need to access the monument? +
General tickets to the Parthenon are not nominative, but if you benefit from any age-related discount, it is necessary to carry identification in order to prove it properly.
Can I bring my tickets in digital format?+
Yes, the tickets are delivered in digital format and are valid; it is not necessary to print them.
Do children need tickets to access the Parthenon of Athens? +
Yes, everyone needs a ticket to access the monument.
Can I change or cancel my tickets to the Parthenon of Athens? +
No, changes or cancellations of tickets are not allowed. Once the purchase process is completed, it is not possible to modify the details, whether name, date or time. Ticket cancellation and refunds are also not permitted.
These conditions are indicated during the purchase process and are explicitly accepted in our cancellation policies and at the time the ticket purchase is completed.
There are no exceptions, whether due to illness, COVID-19, work-related reasons or trip cancellation, as established by the entity.
Once the purchase process is completed, returns and refunds are not accepted.
Refunds are only possible if the monument closes due to force majeure and without prior notice. If this happens, the refund will be made in full through the same payment method used.
Can I exercise the right of withdrawal? +
No, there is no right of withdrawal as provided in Law 3/2014, of 27 March, which amends the revised text of the General Law for the Protection of Consumers and Users, approved by Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007, of 16 November. Article 103, which sets out the exceptions to the right of withdrawal, establishes that the right of withdrawal does not apply to: (l) the provision of services related to leisure activities, when the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance.
Is it possible to eat inside the monument? +
Eating inside the Acropolis of Athens is prohibited; you may only bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated, and there are fountains inside to refill it.
Is there a luggage storage service at the monument? +
There is no luggage storage service at the monument, so it is advisable to bring a small bag.
Is the visit cancelled in case of rain? +
No, the visit also takes place in case of rain, in which case it is recommended to wear waterproof clothing and suitable footwear.
What happens if the monument closes? +
If the monument closes due to force majeure, the option to reschedule the visit for another day will be offered. If this is not possible, the full amount of the tickets will be refunded.
Can pets access the monument? +
Access to the Acropolis of Athens with pets is not allowed. Access is only permitted with guide dogs or assistance dogs upon prior request and by presenting the appropriate credentials.
Can I enter the Parthenon of Athens at a different time than the one selected during my purchase? +
No, tickets have an assigned time slot and it is necessary to attend the visit within that indicated time frame. You may start the visit from 15 minutes before or 15 minutes after; this is the established period to ensure proper access due to possible queues. It is recommended to arrive at least 30 minutes before the selected entry time.
How long can I stay inside the Parthenon of Athens? +
The visit to the Parthenon of Athens has no time limit beyond the monument's closing time. Once inside, you may remain for as long as you wish, but once you leave, the ticket cannot be reused.
Can the Acropolis of Athens and the Parthenon be visited in one day? +
Yes, it can be visited in one day, but keep in mind that the Parthenon of Athens is just one of the many buildings that make up the Acropolis, so the visit is much more extensive than just seeing the Parthenon itself. There are many other important spaces to see, such as the famous Caryatids of the Erechtheion, the Theatre of Dionysus, or the Temple of Athena Nike.
When is the best time to visit the Parthenon of Athens? +
The mild months of the year are the best option to enjoy the Acropolis of Athens, mainly April and May.
What is the difference between the Acropolis and the Parthenon? +
The Acropolis of Athens is the complete archaeological complex; it literally means “high city” and consists of the entire hill. The Parthenon is one of the different monuments that we can find within the Acropolis and was a temple dedicated to the goddess Athena.
What time should I visit the Parthenon of Athens? +
It is most advisable to go early in the morning to enjoy the visit with fewer crowds. This is even more important if you visit in summer, as it is a very hot area.
How close are the Acropolis and the Parthenon? +
The Parthenon of Athens is located inside the Acropolis; it is a monument that forms part of the architectural complex. It is situated at the highest point of the hill.
